Ontario California Apartment Code Enforcement

As we progress further into or out of the Greatest Depression-Recession (depending on who you believe!) there is a disturbing trend taking hold in many cities around southern California! what is it? well it has a beneficial sounding name.....CODE ENFORCEMENT! that doesn't sound like a bad thing right? well when not abused it's not a bad thing! BUT! I say again BUT! when a cities coffers get low and there's not enough money to pay for bloated city payrolls, and all those inefficient city employee's (example Bell, CA) then it's time to ramp up the code enforcement department! What these Vampires do is get in their little trucks and drive around to Apartment Complexes or Rental Properties or even homeowners that might be a little behind in their yard maintenance, and get out their little book and right a correction that they charge an administrating fee for! cha-chaa-ching instant city income! I have it on good authority that some cities (Ontario) use a helicopter to spy on their residents backyards for un-maintained pools or un-permitted additions and such! then watch out here comes the fines and fees! City sanctioned & legalized extortion!

We are working on a Apartment complex that was extorted (opps I mean fined) for code corrections, now that would be okay if they left it at making the corrections and let the property owners move on (sore backside and all) but once these Building Officials get their fangs in you they will not let go until you are bled dry and then some! They ignore their own complete incompetence and will make you make corrections to corrections they have already okay-ed??? how does that work? you okay-ed A, B, C, and D and now there wrong? come on guys! leave a little meat on the bone!

So if your planning on buying a rental home or apartments or starting a business or even a homeowner thinking of remodeling your Ontario California home or business think hard about it! REALLY HARD! because you will need a high tolerance for pain and suffering! NO JOKE! All I can say guy's is Karma is a bitch!

Every point you have given was TRUE. I agree with your side. Things, when abused aren't considered GOOD anymore.

With this enforcement, no tenant should be able to use their privileges. I guess they should balance it well.

This will make it fair on both sides and there is no taking advantages. We cant deny the fact that there is always an abuse to any kind of power and this is a good example.

This inspection routine has always been going on in my community for apartments but now they have extended it to rental homes and my customers are having to comply and are very unhappy about this.gialista

Find an apartment that’s within reasonable walking or biking distance to the places you frequent most often. Self-propelling your bag-o-bones wherever it needs to go will ultimately improve your health, save you time, and reduce the temptation to strangle drivers who don’t possess the mental capacity required to properly merge onto the freeway.

This is a common problem to an apartment, using their authority against their costumers. A good law like should be implemented to have a fair living among the both sides.

Very interesting article. The city inspectors should be working with the plumbing company, electrical company, etc to help ensure work is done to code. Inspectors should not be hassling the tradesman as you stated. Call your local Ontario city hall and speak to a representative regarding the issue. Hope it helps. Great blog.
